Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

This was a 1995 solo ride by Tom from Tallinn, Estonia through central Estonia and Latvia to Vilnius, Lithuania and then returning to Tallinn through Riga, Latvia.  The first portion of this ride was through rural sections of the Baltic countries which had, until 1991, been closed to westerners for 50 years.  Not surprisingly, this section was almost completely devoid of services for travelers.  The return portion was along the main highway that connects the three capitals and had many of the amenities that we take for granted in the West.
