AUSTRALIA - 1996
This was a 3,500 kilometer ride from Sydney north along the east coast of Australia to Cooktown. We followed the Pacific Bicycle Route, a route mapped in 1986 by an organization called Bicycle Australia, from Sydney to Brisbane. This route was primarily on secondary roads, some of them gravel. From Brisbane to Cairns we took the main highway before riding the last section on gravel roads best suited for four wheel drive vehicles to Cooktown.
